Your "Kia Ora" brought back some lovely memories for me. Our neighbours drew a soldier-settler block in the 50's and called it, "Kia Ora". That was in the far north-west of NSW and was so named by their Grandmother who was part-Maori. She was a lovely old lady who taught me how to make peppermint chocolate crackles when I was about 4 or 5. (And that wasn't yesterday !!!) LOL.
