I stayed in a standard room and they are a little on the small side but with only two of us, it wasn't a problem at all. I wouldn't want more than 2 adults sharing though. We had an upstairs room with a balcony (if you can call it that!) but never even had the door open, the air conditioning was just too nice! Also if you happen to be on the southern side (next to the horse stables), they burn their rubbish almost daily and we found the smoke (combined with the heat) to be very stifling.
I had my free massage in the spa and was lovely but didn't have anything else as it was quite a bit more expensive than outside the hotel (We went to the Secret Garden - FANTASTIC!).
We weren't as impressed with the breakfast as Joel was - it was nice, but nothing great.
I loved having the hawkers at the bottom of the hotel. There is also "Dewa's Stubby Cubby" this was a favourite of my boyfriend. There are deck chairs and umbrellas on the beach as well - don't pay more than 10000 or 15000 for the day, one lady got suckered for 50000 when U was there!
The taxi's were a nusence at times, but the worst thing about walking to them was the "survey" people between the hotel and taxi!
The Pelangi is about 3 blocks up from where Hackett's Bungy is. Not far at all! Maybe halfway between Gado Gado and the Bungy.
My biggest gripe about the Pelangi was (and I know it sounds stupid!) that we were only able to have 1 room key. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem, but sometimes my boyfriend and I wanted to do different things, but found it hard because we couldn't just "see each other back at the room". Sound's like a little thing, but ended up being more inconvenient than I would have expected.
Enjoy your holiday!
