We took half cash and the rest Visa. But we only ever took enough for one days shopping out and left the rest in the hotel safe with our passports. We used cash in the streets but visa is so much easier in all the shopping malls. The shopping was still really cheap in the big shopping centers and the quality was really good (beautiful Italian leather). All the factory outlets take Visa too!!
