I have been using SLRs with all the bells and whistles for over twenty years. I recently succumbed to the urge to own a digital camera. I have a Konica Minolta Z20, 5Mg pixels and 8 by Zoom. It gives awesome results and is as big as my fist, my usual SLR kit fits into a large camera bag that probably weighs 5 kg. The resulting photos are as good as the film photos. I say go digital as Trilaby recommends.
