- recent shock chlorine treatment. This is usually carried out at night when the pool is not in use and should clear by mid morning. It is actually an indication of good pool care. The water might be a bit unpleasant to swim in because of the higher than usual chlorine levels but it should also be safer than usual for the same reason.
