Padma is a 5 star and very nice in a great location. It is a huge property so can be a long walk as mentioned. That would be the only criticism I think you could make of Padma. I had dinner at Padma and saw the Legong Dance show and it was a grreat night.
Niksoma is a 4 star and is also in a great location but much smaller and boutique style. Their Superior room is very nice. Had lunch at Niksoma and would be more than happy to stay there.
Both are on the beach pedestrian walk very close to each other. I think Niksoma might be the type of place where you would more easliy socialise with other guests as this seems always the way in a smaller property.
Either way you can't go wrong.
