i have not seen or stayed at the Niksoma, so cannot comment. We often stay at the Padma and did a few weeks ago with a bunch of girls. We stayed in the superior rooms which are in the hotel wing. They are about as far away as you can get from the main gate, pool and the beach as you could get! Having said that none of it was a problem for us. We were in and out all the time. The rooms are great. The pool is unbelievable. The breakfast is exceptional. It is a huge hotel but you never feel like there are people everywhere and I have never, ever not been able to get a deck chair (as happens in some smaller hotels). This is not a hotel where you tend to get to know the other guests. Great location. Great happy hr 5-7 on the grass terrace overlooking the beach.
Good luck whichever way you choose, would love to hear how you find the Niksoma if you choose to stay there.
