The first week was pretty quiet due to Nyepi. Did a bit of shopping. Bought lots of DVD's from softcomp as Helgie wasn't in Bali at the time. Bought about 100 and customs did't even look at them.
On Thursday hired a DVD player and went to Matahari to stock up on munchies for Nyepi. That night we walked into Kuta to watch the Ograh Ograh's. How AMAZING! They put so much work into these. Just as the parade was about to begin, it started pouring down. Everyone was trying to get cover. They ended up cancelling. What a shame after to much effort. We, for some silly reason thought we would get a cab, but everyone had gone back to their villages, so we started walking along the beach road. What a LONG walk. Plus we were starving and most of the restaurants had closed up.
Finally we came across transport. A real dodgy looking bemo. But what the heck we were desperate. Huppy and I sat right at the back and our friends in the middle. Everytime we went around a corner mine and hubbys seat would slide back and forward. The bemo was also filling up with fumes and we were choking. I think walking was better.
On Friday (Nyepi) pretty much watched movies, pigged out and swam. I didn't mind having a quiet day. Decided to skip the MBR Nyepi dinner, as breakfast was barely edible. Decided to go to the Markets on Kuta beach in the morning. jbr 3 coming soon
