I've stayed in the Laxmi B room I think. Or the A. Can't remember. It was the most expensive one aside from the family room. Fantastic room with large balcony and awesome bathroom. The prices have increase dramatically in recent times and I don't think HMGH now represents fair value for money.
Walking from Tegal Sari to HMGH will probably take 20-30mins, most of it up hill. I'd just arrange to have someone pick you up to take you there. 10000rp will do the trick with someone off the street. If you use the TS transport, it's free, but I'm not sure what times they operate.
Don't rely on hailing a cab because there are none.
