Left home at 5am Monday 7th March for Brisbane airport. Checked in straight away and headed to departure lounge for coffee. Flight with Garuda left on time with good service and plenty of food and drink. After six long hours were about to land when rain started pouring. Suddenly the plane shot up and sped off. We were told we hand to land in Surabaya due to bad weather and they would refuel there. Not a happy plane! Well spent two hour in stifling Surabaya and reboarded the plane.
Finally landed in Bali! But lost half the day! VOA was quick, through to get bags. Porters took bags, hubby gave them 5000Rp but told our newbie friends to pay in dollars. We never heard this and they gave them $10! HA HA
Went outside to find driver, who had left because we were so late.
So got two taxis to take us to MBR. When we arrived and had our welcome drink we taken to the old suites we had requested. We were not impressed. Very smelly and musty. I asked to be moved to a new suite. They moved us to a room with the small pool right outside our door. This turned out to be great as very few people used this pool. (no pool bar). Had a few problems with the room. Fridge didn't work, airconditioner was leaking all over the floor and toilet kept getting blocked. But eventually it was all fixed and turned out to be a great room.
We had six other friends staying there and they had booked for us all to go to ku de ta for dinner. This place is very overrated. Don't get me wrong the atmosphere is great but the food wasn't worth the money. Much too expensive for what it was. Wouldn't go there again.
We were all exhausted so had an early night and try to start a new tomorrow.
