I think you'd either have to be thick or a cheapskate to be travelling OS without insurance. The most innocent of accidents could leave you with a broken arm and as eveyone else has said, quality care is EXPENSIVE. I think it's great to have even before you leave so that if you get sick beforehand, you can get your money back.
