have had many trips overseas since 1976 and have numerous occasions to use it. one time qantas went on strike and we were stcuk in bali (great place to be stuck) for four extra days. luckily i had a credit card and we were re-imbursed for all our expenses for those days. besides small medical claims over the years, couple of years ago travelling companion had what he thought was a heart attack, spent all day at BIMC and had extensive tests. all up cost A$1450. travel insurance payed the lot. i personally would not travel without it.
