In Lipah village [Amed] right in front of the Vienna Beach Hotel. Extensive live coral reef with plenty of fish. Best at least rise and fall of the tide. A bit of a scramble at low tide, but there's coral and fish almost as soon as you kick off from the beach.

Most of the beach is gone from Candi Dasa after they removed the offshore coral reef for building materials. However, there is a nice clean white sand beach stretching from Shangrila to Resor Prima. This is a couple of minutes drive down a narrow sealed road to the right after you pass Legends Cafe, at the Amlapura end of CD main street. Very easy to get in and out for some low key coral reef snorkeling. [Walk through Resor Prima and look interested at maybe staying there sometime.]

Blue Lagoon just out of Padang Bai is quite pleasant as long as you get there before the waves get up a bit.
