Thats a fair spread of hotels.....literally. Spread out in location and price. I've stayed at the dynasty previously which would be my first choice with kids, followed by the Bali Hai but Ive heard that recently it's showing its age. Others on the forum may well know better. We stayed at the Aston in Sept last year and loved it, best pool and huge rooms (bit tired) but we found eating options were limited (quality not quantity)and were constantly heading into Kuta. At the same time that we were at the Aston we had friends staying at the Melia and we were very impressed beautiful property but prohibitive costs at hotel for average Aussie. We stayed at the Intercontinental a few years ago which is best described as palatial but costs inside are horendous and not a very social holiday.(mostly Japanese and european clients)and at that time not the best choice of eating options outside the hotel.
We are booked to stay at the Paradise Plaza Hotel in August (family suite)where we have stayed previously and found it had the right mix of luxury and value being a fair bit cheaper than the Dynasty (who now incedently own the Hotel) both the hotel and sister Suites down the road have kid fcilities and there are a decent range of eating options within the area.
