This is inaccurate... Maybe before mid 2002 this was the case...
Most DVD's now are direct DVD rips - only missing some of the extras (to fit onto the DVD)... ie. you might be missing a couple of languages or perhaps some of the other extras... Otherwise anything that is available somewhere in the world on DVD will be available in DVD quality.
Anything that is new at the cinema is hit and miss...
Can be:
Handie Cam
Professional Camera taking from Print/Screen
Academy Release
Leaked Prerelease
But old stuff...
