I will be in Bali by mid-may, and I will stay in Amed during that period, with a mixture of days spent on the village beach (snorkeling, diving) and days spent going around the most interesting sites.
What is the best option between renting a car and hiring a driver? I mean not only economically, but also from a safety point of view, since I have read that driving in Bali can be quite stressing and dangerous, and that in case of accident the consequences can be very grave, no matter if you are right or wrong.Moreover, it is also reported that you can get fines by policemen at anytime without a specific reason... Is it true or just exaggerations?
How is going around with a driver, instead? I am afraid that I will have less freedom to go wherever I want and stop whenever I want, what is your experience?
