Got to admit it I have a huge guilt thing about colonial days in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesian. Although of course I didn't do it!!!! but I am an Aussie of British birth and I hate the idea of appearing like the Tuan and Nyonya of old days. In fact that's why I prefer the terms Ibu and Bapak, the very sound of Tuan makes me want to curl up and crawl under a log.
Probably an over reaction. I am a bit prone to that but I can't help but feel this way.
