1.People are paranoid about eating salads because they have been washed in tap water. So have the dishes you are eating off and the glass you drink out of, and the staff's hands. That is if their hands were washed properly in the first place (just as guilty worldwide).
If you think about it too much you will never eat out again. E.Coli has been found on lift buttons, traffic light buttons and of course money. IT'S EVERYWHERE. Then without washing your hands you eat hot chips. Or you have washed your hands but dry them on a shared towel. So why bother? Minimising the count does help.
2.It's not the chicken or beef or salad or any particular food.
3.It's not reserved for the 'dodgy' joints.
