I went on that trip last month with my son.....I'm on the wrong side of sixty, but I didn't find the steps too too bad, until two days later! My son wasn't even out of breath, so they are not too bad.
We had two Japanese men behind us too, and they were very distressed...but they were overweight which explained their state.
