We use a car hire place Sari Bungi sorry but the card is at home, can bring it in tomorrow, but if you do a search you should find it as I have posted it quite a few times. The place is in the same road as Padma and Mandira.
Driving in Bali is fine, once you are out of Kuta it is nowhere near as mad.
