Im coming up for my 13th trip to Bali and have driven and ridden for the duration of my stay on every occasion. If you have driven in asian countries before your obviously aware of there lack of rules but general abundance of patience. I reckon drive yourself but just take it easy initially and get a feel for the way they do things. Its a nice easy run from Kuta to Sanur but you probably will have to U turn into the suites. Traffic is much busier now at peak times compared with a couple of years ago so allow for delays at the usual peak times of day. On some country roads you have to be particually vigilant as keep left does'nt seem to apply, also beware of dogs,pigs and chickens, usual asian fare. Fuels not a big problem in Bali with big Petrol Stations everwhere. Also seatbelts now compulsary in Bali for driver and passengers in vehicle
