I had three pairs of shoes made there for ballroom and Latin dancing. My lady friend and three other friends also had dancing shoes made. This is specialised footwear. The shoes have to be lightweight, flexible, not move at all when they are on your feet and have special soles which grip the dance floor, but still allow you to slide.

Countries with a long history of ballroom dancing, such as Australia and England, know how to make this kind of footwear, but it is to the credit of Balinese shoemakers that they are able to do this when there is no tradition of ballroom dancing in their country.

My Bali made shoes are very comfortable and cost just a fraction of Australian prices. And jiving etc would knock hell out of them if they were not well made.
