Boy are you in for one HUGE shock. Would advise you stay in southern Sanur, if you can afford it, as it is quietest of your choices. I know everyone says its fine in central Sanur, but it was ALOT busier 7 yrs ago compared to 15 yrs ago. Beach is half eroded away, with concrete groins to stop this, and the walkway built along it was like running the gauntlet dodging the hawkers. I'm looking at the Mecure for these very reasons. Feedback on this place is a bit scant though.
Some suites will cost more than interconnecting rooms. Those that are cheaper probably won't provide you with any privacy. I prefer one room so I can keep the kids under control! If you book interconnecting rooms make sure you confirm this with the hotel direct - I've heard one too many stories about kids being on different levels!
I don't envy your position. Finding cheap accommodation for 4 of us was bad enough, let alone 5. Travelling with our 2 boys (now 12 & 16) over the years, I have found that an interesting and big pool area was a major priority. Big enough so they didn't hassle other travellers!
Stayed at the Bali Holiday Resort in 2001. Grounds are nice, pool OK but rooms are basic. Beach cottages are in best position but still basic and NO views (in fact no windows, just small wooden shutters). Cottages are right next to each other, so not too far away. Beach is dark grey sand. Plenty of restaurants and supermarket short walk away up a quiet road, before you hit Jl Legian. Not my first choice for you, but don't know what else to suggest up here.
Tuban is quieter than central Sanur but enough restaurants and shops. Most of the hotels cater well for families. Good Luck!
