Some regulars to Bali book a year in advance to get the cheapest seats on particular flights. If you are on a time constraint you may not get the cheapest seats if you leave it too long. So ask your travel agent for the cheapest level (economy has different price levels for same ticket conditions), book a return trip with at least 4 days of accommodation to take advantage of package tour prices. And all you pay at this stage is a deposit. You can change your accommodation choice later if you want to. Book other hotels on line closer to travelling time if you want to stay somewhere not offered my brochures. But if your particular about where to stay I wouldn't leave that too long either.
I cannot imagine that the airlines would reduce their last minute
prices any lower than their lowest fare. But I don't have a crystal ball. Only if we did!
