Everybody seems to have different opinions on this bird flu, some think it was an over the top question, some did not relise that Indonesia was ever affected and others seem to think that chicken poo is the only way we humans can catch it. Did some reading on the World Health Oraganisation site and copyed a little down for reading.
To date, outbreaks in poultry caused by the H5N1 strain have been confirmed in the following countries (listed in order of reporting):

(

Republic of Korea ruary 2004 - first outbreak of this disease ever reported)
China (27 January 2004)
Laos (27 January 2004 - H5 confirmed, testing for H5N1 under way)
Indonesia (2 February 2004 - first outbreak of this disease ever reported) AI viruses can contaminate eggs and poultry meat. Even dressed (frozen and/or commercially packaged) poultry can present a risk for infection to humans because HPAI viruses can survive in frozen carcasses and blood for as long as 3 weeks.

Glad I have this site to fall back on. Although im sure Bali is safe at the moment i will keep regular checks as I would rather my family be safe than sorry especially when we are eating out at so many places where we are not in charge of preparing our own food.
Thanks guys
