I posted this last night as the initial post was further down the page and yet mine still disappeared...maybe because it had attention: Jab who was asking the question. This was not a personal post BTW, just updating info from someone yesterday.
My workmate went to australia post yesterday [tuesday] to enquire about buying some US $ for VOA for when they travel in May.
She was told that the exchange rate for Aust to US $ yesterday was .7566 and that if she changed $300 then the fee would be $3.05. [This was just an example they gave her as she isnt going until may and will wait a bit longer to get the US currency.]
When you order the money you pay there and then to ensure you get the rate they are quoting you and the money is available 2 working days after that.
Hope that may be of some help to Jab and any others who are looking to get US $'s as the fee Jenny was quoted was less than the banks around $7. Hey the banks have enough of our money as it is. Cheers.
