We flew with AP on the 14th of march and again on the 25th of march and have renamed them Air HADES.
The flight there arrived 6 hours late. It was meant to be direct sydney to denpasar. We went to board and the guy at the plane door said "free seating to melbourne, sit anywhere you want". We, expecting to go to denpasar, asked why we were going to melbourne. Apparently the melbourne flight from denpasar couldnt land so they flew to sydney, dropped sydney people off, picked up us newb sydney people and then had to drop the melbourne people off and pick up the melbourne people.
Because of the free seating, there were no 3 seats together, or even 2 seats together and the airline staff actually suggested that our 2 year old sit with strangers! Get serious! (Did I mention I'm 5 months pregnant?)
We arrived in melbourne, waited at the airport for 3 hours before reboarding the plane (during which, all the smokers nearly rioted since there was no smoking room) and once we reboarded the plane we waited for an additional 2 HOURS ON BOARD THE PLANE before...22 people that couldnt fit on the plane at sydney (cos of the melbourne leftovers) finally got on. Their story was worse because they couldnt get on the plane at sydney and had to go through international, back to domestic, fly with virgin blue to melbourne, back through to international and customs etc etc.
Anyways, we arrived in denpasar 6 hours later than scheduled with no cruise, no dinner, nada. On top of that, our 2 year old didnt eat from 9am until 430pm because of their stuff up (she got served her kids meal an hour after they had packed up all the adult meals). And, since melbourne wasnt expecting that flight, there was no hot food, just vending machines.
The flight back was only an hour late but overall, the service was just bad both there and back. Our stroller was LOST on the way home and so when we arrived at sydney we had no stroller. It arrived a day later at our front door via courier with no sorry note or apology letter or anything.
I think the fact that they didnt give us anything to compensate for our missed vacation time, not to mention our lost stroller and poor service in general was just so unprofessional and dodgy.
2 days before we left they called us and told us the flight was overbooked and asked us to travel with garuda. We said okay. The evening before we left, there was a message on my mobile saying that the garuda plans had changed and we were to fly with AP as scheduled. They didnt actually TALK to us, just left a message.
Sorry to all you AP fans,
we'll NEVER fly with them again.
