Dont know about the Sofitel but I have stayed at both the Padma in a deluxe chalet and the LBH in a deluxe villa near the pool. Have actually stayed in both hotel twice and prefer the LBH as I love the smaller pool with the swim up bar as the grounds around it are lovely. My biggest complaint with the Padma was the fact you coulnt get a spot around the pool unless you got up at 7am and reserved a seat, in fact some people did it every day and hardly ever swam in the pool. The room at the Padma are probaly nicer that LBH but I found LBH to be more laid back and the pool cooler to swim in. Both hotels are on the beach with only the new road in front of them and thats only for walking on so you never get any traffic on the road.
