That perhaps the holiday was "overplanned". I go to Bali with an idea of things I want to see and do and a few "must not miss" things on my list, but I never plan anything other than my accomodation and my flights (obviously).
I'm yet to be disappointed after 3 trips and hope to never be disappointed after many future ones either.
I think the best plan is to have no real plan at all. Take it all as it comes and enjoy it for what it is.
