The first time you probably went with eyes wide open & hunger for learning everything & thirst to experience everything & then came back with new knowledge, your own ideas of the place compared to this forums comments etc...
But then went back thinking you'd learnt so much more & knew so much more about the country, people & place, so no longer had thr=e thirst to just take it as it comes, yet went planned & prepared...!!! So it was no longer a holiday but a mission to see & do things that were pre planned & felt possibly annoyed if these things were not achieved as per the plan??? I don't know how much you planned & prepared, but often a holiday is best & more realxing if it is spontaneous...
I never plan a day when I go to Bali, I never know what Ceremonies for our village will take place whilst we are there etc... It is much better than having a grand plan...
Go with no plans only book your 4 nights or sop at a lead in hotel & travel day by day staying in back packers places all over the Island or simply just go with no plan & you will enjoy it more!!!
