I would talk to your service provider and make them look into it on your behalf.. If you go to global roaming it will cost more but if it works then it's worth it I guess.
All these companies we've all signed up with Telstra, Optus, Vodaphone etc, must know soemthing. There must be some official comment available.
Talk to them, let us know how you fare. I will too.
