Yes, I was told that the Gateway of India was a great restaurant. It turned out to be terrible...the worst food we ate in Bali. BUT, as it turns out, they were talking about the one at Seminyak...we went to the GOI at Kuta. No BIG DEAL. We went elsewhere and had a good meal.
Bali may not be as cheap as Bombay is, but its certainly not expensive.
Nooo, I didn't write anything on their toilets...in fact, I only go to the toilet if I really need to. And, NO, I will not take your advice and write on toilets to express my disatisfaction. I will vote with my feet. Meaning just walk out(after paying the bill, leaving a tip) and not return again. Yes, I would leave a tip...its not the fault of the waiters, is it, if the food doesn't appeal to me ???
And, yes, there are some pretty decent restaurants in Bali. I liked Lola, Khaima and Sate Bali at Kerobokan... Golden Lotus, Bubba Gump,
Ma Joly at Tuban. There are plenty more I couldn't try. I was there just 8 nights and was often on tour.
I really feel you should take a more relaxed attitude towards restaurants and food, Dingo...you'll enjoy it more. Its up to you entirely, though. Cheers !!
