I checked with my wife. She says you are on the ball ;-)
We keep saffron ( kesar, in Hindi) in an air-tight box in a cool, dark, place. It lasts for a long time this way. Retaining every ounce of potency ;-) Fantastic spice, saffron. Saffronised Mutton Biryani is one of my all time favourites ;-)
Remember, Lolita....airtight, cool, dark ;-)

PS--We were at Delhi Durbar last night. Ate some delicious mutton biryani, galauti kekabs with rumali roti and some shahi murgh pasanda. Finished off with malai kulfi. Mouth watering ;-)
