make sure you do it during business hours, or you will get a recorded message. I don't know how DIMIA gets away with that crap.
I've been trying to get info for a friend who wants to visit for one week. She has a good job, which she will definitely be returning to. All she needs to know is what DIMIA considers "enough" to live on for a week's holiday, so that she will know whether or not she has to bother getting letters of support.
You'd think some sort of a rough guide could be posted on the website, but this information is protected as though it's part of the Kennedy assassination files.
On the website, it says "There is no 'magic formula' for a successful application". There also doesn't even seem to be a range, or a ballpark figure.
Personally, I think they are just seeking to make money by encouraging people to pay the application fee so that they can reject the request and make them pay again when they re-apply.
