You've picked the right time of year to go. The weather is hot (about +30 degrees Celsius) but almost no humidity. It's the humidity that's the killer.
As far as house swapping is concerned, you must remember that Bali is a third world country. As Maggs said, not too many people there could afford the airfare to the US.
