Our last two trips the manager at the house we stay at has taken our passports to the police station for registration. He told us since the bombing they have to do it for security reasons. As there is normally 5 of us, he said if something happened, they have a record of who is staying at the house. When we used to stay at LBH they always took details of our passports at check in. I don't know about the fee, but I guess we'll find out in Sept. We were a bit hestiant at first to hand over our passports but we haven't had a problem.
