One point of interest here. I am really supprised about the ammount of people on here that think drugs are hard to get in Bali.
I grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods in the US. Right in the middle of gang borders. I have seen more than my fare share of Bangers and Pushers. A few of my extended family members are pretty large in the Us / Mexico drug trade. Stay with me here, this does become relivant.
On my first trip to Bali last April I saw alot of dealers in the Seminyak / Kuta area. I love the people in Bali and was really sad when I noticed how many addicts thier were. When I went on the "Quad" tour I saw one of the biggest pot plants I have ever seen. I was offered "H" bye one strung out local. I actually took a picture of the pot plant, it was quite impressive.
Maybee it's because of my backround (although I've never really used drugs) or the fact that I think I maybee a little bit younger than the average person on this board, but I saw alot of drugs/drug problems in Bali.
I just thought that the parents on here should know this before makeing thier decission on letting thier children go to Bali or not.
Now before I get lynched on here I'd like to point out that I love Bali, and lots of places have drug problems. Trust me, you can get them everywere. The key is to raise your children right, and hope like hell they stay away from them. I just do not want a parent to send a kid to Bali who might have a drug problem thinking they are safer thier. It's even worse. Bali has a death penality were you get a fine here in the good old US.
Bye the way, one point about the girl who is in prison right now. Thier is no way the average 27 year old could have financed the buy to get that much pot. That is the only reason I think that she might not be guilty. I would how ever rule out the conspiercey theory. Bali's government's worse nightmare is to give foriegners a reason to stop comming. The bombings really messed of Bali's economy, they really don't need this girl to be put to death on top of it.
