Freezing Vs Boiling

Boiling for at least 5mins will kill the bacteria but unfortunately, freezing has no effect at all. If you want to freeze tap water and make it ok to drink, it must be boiled beforehand. Which I certainly can't see any restaurants doing, it would just be too time consuming.
