Get a cab to Camplung Mas (just off Jl Melasti in Legian). Rooms are 250.000 with AC, breakfast. Or Puri Etnik is next door. 180.000 Ac with breakfast. Might be able to bargain lower.
Fan rooms are 100.000.
You can walk to beach, shops, restaurants. Not as in your face as Poppies2 but still close to everything.
