We have never had any problems with leaving things in our room.
I would just place them in the suitcase and lock this up - that way they are not easily taken. If you can't see it then people are not going to wish they had one (your's that is).
As to larger clothing you will be able to find some things the others you can have made if required, use a good tailor - you will be amazed how quickly things are made
