Hi Fran :
Two years ago we did the same thing & thought that we had got a bargain by buying from Bali & importing back to Sydney ( approx 11c/m ) & were quoted the c/m fee by the cargo company thought that it was still very cheap until we were hit by the freight handlers at this end & then it was not such a good deal.
We befriended a Bali shop owner here in Taren Point & told him of our import adventure & he was kind enough to offer us his freight forwarder's address in Bali & suggested that if we ever wanted to bring any item back we can put it /them with his shipment for a one off fee .
We have since used this method on several occasions & with not having to go through the process of customs , freight forwarders , our friend calls us when the goods have arrived at his shop & we go & pick it up .
You may have a shop like that locally & they may perhaps do the same for you?
