We visited the Healing and Reflexology Clinic in Benesari St in Kuta. I booked my husband in with Sammy (owner) for deep tissue massage, which does him the world of good here in Aus as he has specific problems but costs a lot. I saw his wife (sorry forgotten name) for reflexology. We were introduced to them and I was taken to my curtained off area. I was asked if I had any specific problems and said no. Then I had to strip (thought it would be just feet as I have been used to in the past). My treatment really probably wasn't much more than a massage and not what I have been used to with reflexology, although she did hit a sore spot in my ankle that she said related to my liver, which I know has a problem.
At one stage Sammy came in and said that my husband had many problems, which I knew, and I just presumed he (Sammy)was having a break, as deep tissue massage is very hard on person administering. Anyway, when we left I took one look at my husband and knew things weren't good. He had a small "gash" I suppose in the middle of his forehead and was as white as a sheet. He was trying hard not to vomit from the pain. He staggered to the nearest bar took some of his painkillers and waited for them to work while we sat and watched the Melb Cup, missing out on Bali Aussie as planned (our horse won)
He said that he didn't see Sammy until half way through and the forehead mark had been made by the nails of the guy that treated him (who had no English!!) He was in agony for days, couldn't do anything. I asked him why he didn't stop him, but if anyone has had deep tissue therapy they will know that it hurts (a lot) at the time but you feel pretty good after.
All in all a lowlight of our holiday. Had I realised that Sammy wasn't treating him I would have jumped up and down (as we women do. I had no ill effects and felt quite good.
This is not a complaint, just a warning to others to beware as I notice that there have been a few posts lately along the healing line!!
