hey there, don't know if this will help.

We wanted to buy paintings over in Ubud but found that all the galleries were to expensive wanting 1.4 million to 5 million per painting depending on size, artist and medium, what we found was that in Seminyak, Legian, Kuta and Tuban they had shops which sold art from UBUD but at a much cheaper rate. The shop we purchased most of our paintings from was M.F.F Art Painting Wholesale and Retail JL Dewi Sartika Kuta located in front of the stadium cafe. What we discovered was that their paintings were of very good quality they have a very large selection, they receive stock all of the time and they are quite willing to negotiate on prices. I purchased 4 paintings on the last day from them for a total of 600K rupiah and all the paintings were quite large. I highly recommend them. When we return in September next year I will purchase from them again. In total I purchased 6 paintings from them,, 1 painting from a dealer in Kuta located on JL Legian (he ripped me off) and 1 from a market place located down in Legian opposite the balcony restaurant for 140K rupiah (exceptionally good value and nice quality). All my paintings are rather large and vary in medium and compisition, they are currently being framed and will be ready in about 2 weeks, if you like you can send me your email address and I can send you pictures of what I brought when I pick them up. Hope this helps
