Allen, I think maybe as you said that I haven't accquired the talent then for walking in thongs for long hours but then again I'm not sure if I really want to.Being a typical woman & loving the bargains,I do naturally window shop as I am walking along but who could resist the temptation ? I think a number of my friends may also say I could be to busy talking as well <LOL>
For a long time now I have gone for comport in shoes & in Bali safety also comes into it with my choice of footwear. So definately no slinky thongs for me.I live in my Homy Peds almost every trip.I also have fallen arches so with the hours of walking I do when shopping or getting around I need comfort. My husband would probably be happy if my shoes were not as money <VBG> I often go off on my own for 4 hours or more at a time & only come back when I can't carry anymore bags.
Our last trip in June was the worse when it came to the conditions of the footpaths because of the roadworks.I thought I was being very careful looking where I was going but still managed 3 tumbles(nothing serious) around Kuta & Legian! Some places were almost mountain goat territory to get from the road /footpath into a shop you wanted to go into. There were these little narrow planks of wood over these whopping great holes,I felt like I was a pirate being made to walk the plank & expect I wasn't the only one.
You must be a lovely person, thank you so much for " the youngsters like you " comment. My teenage kids would be ROFLTAO at that comment re their Mum.Been a very very long time since I have been called a youngster ,even if I still do feel that wayinside & act like it.
