My other half traveled on a british passport and had to have a re-enrty visa to get back into oz even though he had lived in oz for 30 odd years. To be issued with an aust passport you have to become an aust citizen, which he now is. He was questioned one year by immigration on arrival back into oz about his re-entry visa. It was all in order, I suppose they had nothing better to do that day :-)
