We have just returned from Bali and Yogya spent 2 days in Yogya.We're two "older ladies" and felt quite safe wandering around.The temple at Borobudur is quite spectacular but be prepared to be photographed time and time again with groups of inquisitive locals.All very friendly but as our guide told us they want to be photographed with tourists as we have faces like "ghosts" and "big noses".That really made us laugh as neither of us could ever be accused of having a big nose.We stayed right in the centre of Yogya at the Garuda hotel.Wouldn't recommend it though the rooms were quite dirty made the Garden View in Legian look like a palace and it is now past it's use by date.
