A really good place is the Bush Telegraph Pub in Dhyana Pura Rd in Seminyak. Much nightlife in this street which is good to watch from the deck out the front. This bar has really good food, Aussie or Indo and music every night but not Doof Doof. Great atmosphere and a generally slightly older crowd. I will be in Bali myself for first 2 weeks of August so if any other forumites going may meet you there. Ask Ray at the bar if Bushy is about. He will know when we are coming in. Bushy
