I had a similar experience coming back from Sarawak on Malaysian A/L one year with just my daughter and 65 kgs of luggage between us.
My friend's brother-in-law who lived locally, managed to arrange for our luggage to be weighed with the luggage of an elderly Chinese couple going to Australia.
It was fortunate for us that he knew the guide, who was accompanying this couple on their trip.
Suddenly,our 65kgs became 112kgs spread amongst 5 people - no problems!
