Taxi from ramada bintang

I will be there on Sunday(hopefully) and since it's a long walking distance to Kuta centre,I will use taxi daily.How much is a normal price from ramada to Kuta or Seminyak?Do I have to fix a price before getting into the taxi or it is just fine to trust the taxi metre?Thanks.
