Great read.
I am always amazed how some people never take their kids on holidays with them. They bring out a whole new dimmension to it. Your kids will remember there trip to bali when they are older I am sure.
We took our son to mexico when he was 7 years old. At the border to cross into USA there were 100's of little kids begging for money. Truly sad!!! My son says to us, I wonder what they are fund raising for. As a lot of them had plastic cups. Needless to say we spent a lot of time explaining to him how lucky he is he grows up in Australia. A place where if you work hard you will indeed be lucky.
He is now 13 and still remembers his trip. Only problem is that he has travelled so much, he whinges when he knows we are going away.
Hates all the plane travel. We are doing a really big trip in december and he has already started. Wants to go to Brisbane and stay for 7 weeks with grandpa. Even though he does get excited once we are on our way.
